Proudly overlooking the Mediterranean, this villa is a modern architectural gem, an audacious creation sculpted from wood and terracotta coloured concrete. Beneath the vast pergola, the intense green of the garden’s tropical plants brings out the vivacious red of the cushions. The same colours reappear inside, in the Scandinavian furniture, ornate vases and works of contemporary art. The lounge has no need for a television, opting instead for a huge, curving sofa facing the fireplace. On the other side of the room, leather sofas offer an unbeatable view through the bay windows, over the wooden terrace and out onto the endless blue of the Mediterranean. Upstairs, this villa has cool, minimalist bathrooms as well as its own steam room.
It’s just a short drive to Santa Giulia, widely considered to be one of Corsica’s most beautiful beaches. Of course you can always just stay at home, and soak up some rays by the infinity pool which seems to spill out into the sea. When night falls, head on up to the roof terrace for some stargazing, before sharing a bottle of wine and some classic Corsican charcuterie on the patio.
